Tis' the Season

Okay guys so this is one of my favorite warm beverages sure to get you more than tipsy if you're not careful! The best part, even if you don't like red wine, you will probably like this so drink up.

Mulled Red Wine

What You Need:
- red wine (I like a Vintner's Red)
- mulling spices
- brown sugar
- water
If you do not not already packaged mulling spices, you can tie them into a tea bag or use a metal tea ball. The bag needs to be able to float so it does not burn on the bottom of the crockpot.
1. Pour 1 bottle of red wine, 1/2 a bottle of water, the spice bag, and brown sugar (to taste) into a crockpot.
2. Simmer slowly, do not boil, for at least an hour. The longer the better.
3. After simmering, pour into a mug. You can garnish with an orange peel or stick a cinnamon stick in to stir with if you're feeling fancy.
Personally, I like to let mine cook for at least 4-5 hours and I check on it every hour or so for the taste and add more brown sugar as needed. This is a delicious treat that you can pair with any of your favorite holiday cookies. Enjoy!
